Description : Eran (Hindi: ऐरण) is an ancient Indian historical city in Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh state. It can be called to be the oldest historical town of Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh. In earlier coins and inscriptions its name appears as Airikiṇa (Hindi: ऐरिकिण). From an early inscription at Sanchi we know that the residents of Eran had made some gifts to the famous Stupa situated at Sanchi. This city was the capital of Airikina Pradesha or Airkina Vishaya, an administrative division of the Gupta empire.[1]

Description : Noradehi Wildlife Sanctuary, located at the junction of Sagar, Damoh and Narsinghpur districts, is about 65 km from Sagar and is on the Sagar-Jabalpur Road.
It spreads over 1,197 sq km and the vegetation consists of southern tropical dry deciduous forest. Inhabitants include tiger, panthers, Indian wolf, wild dog, jackal, grey fox, common otter, nilgai, chinkara, chital, sambar deer, black buck, barking deer, common langur and rhesus macaque. Reptiles include fresh water turtles, terrestrial tortoises, monitor lizards and fresh water crocodile and snakes. Spotted Grey Creepe, one of the rarest birds, is found here. Besides, resident and migratory birds such as storks, cranes, egrets, lapwings, vultures, kites, owls, kingfishers, eagles, partridges, quails and doves.
The best period to visit is from November to March. The sanctuary is closed between July and October.
The nearest airports are at Bhopal and Jabalpur. Nearest railway stations and bus stations are at Sagar and Damoh.
